Now Accepting Nominations for our 2014 Feel Good Checking Partners!

SMCU was founded on Seven Principles, one of which is giving back to the communities we serve. One way we give back is through Feel Good Checking™. For every Feel Good Checking account opened, we donate $20 to one of our seven non-profit community partners, who are chosen each year by SMCU and members of our community. Now that 2013 is coming to a close, it’s time for you to help decide who our 2014 partners will be.

Between October 15 and October 30, you can nominate your favorite non-profit organization* to be in the running to be an SMCU Feel Good Checking partner.

How to nominate an organization:

  • Fill out a nomination ballot at any of SMCU’s branches
  • Leave a comment on this blog post
  • Comment on any of our Facebook posts
  • Tweet your nomination on Twitter and include “@seattlemetcu”

Voting for Our Partners

Once the nomination period has ended, SMCU will review the list of organizations and narrow it down to 21 finalists, including our current partners who will be up for re-election. The finalists will be announced on Friday, November 1. For one week, November 1 to November 7, you will be able to vote for your favorite finalist here on 7Principles. The results of the vote will weigh heavily in the selection process, so be sure to support your favorite non-profit through both nominating and voting.

The 2014 Feel Good Checking partners will be announced on Thursday, November 21.

We encourage all SMCU members as well as members of our community to participate. Your voice helps make SMCU a reflection of you, which is an important part of our being a co-op. Happy nominating!

*Eligible organizations must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in the state of Washington.

I would like to nominate Pinky’s Passion for a Parkinson’s Cure. It is an all volunteer charity. Its mission is to raise money, increase awareness & support research for a Parkinson’s cure. We support local PD groups, as well as Team Fox. Thank you for your consideration.
