First Feel Good Checking Donations Go Out to Partners

SMCU’s Feel Good Checking account is like no other account in town. That’s because every time someone opens a Feel Good Checking account, SMCU donates $20 to one or more of our non-profit partners. Last month we had the great pleasure of delivering the first donation checks in person to our non-profit partners. When we visited the offices of FareStart, Washington Cash, Food Lifeline and Southeast Youth and Family Services, we got to meet more of the extraordinary people who work there and we were reminded why Feel Good Checking is such an amazing account.

For example, In addition to providing a great culinary education to their students, who are coming from a life on the streets, FareStart also provides them training in budgeting, resume building, time management, workplace conduct, and many other life-skills areas. The check we presented from Feel Good Checking allows one student to have housing during the course of the 16-week training. The donation we gave to Food Lifeline will provide over 5,000 meals for people that need help providing food for themselves and their families.

The program is just getting started, but your donations are already making a huge difference. Keep telling your friends about Feel Good Checking, and come back here for updates about all the great work we’re doing together at SMCU.
