The Investment Services team at SMCU has teamed up with LPL Financial to host a free educational event, “Memory Loss: Understanding The Basics”. The event focuses on educating members of our community on the basics of Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s currently impacts over 5 million Americans (Alzheimer’s Association, March 2011), and it’s widely believed that educating yourself and your family about the disease can go a long way in preventing onset and can also help in coping with the affects of Alzheimer’s and memory loss.
This presentation will feature a guest speaker from the Alzheimer’s Association, and will cover the risk factors of the disease along with information about diagnosis, treatments and recommendations for other great resources for further education. It will also touch on lifestyle changes that may reduce the risk of memory loss.
The event will take place at the Seattle Public Library, 1000 4th Ave, on Thursday, October 20th. Doors open at 11:30am and the speaker will begin at 12pm.
Space is limited, so please RSVP by calling 206-398-5707 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The curriculum is not suitable for a person currently suffering from memory loss.
