Seattle Tilth, one of our Feel Good Checking partners, is hosting its 25th Annual Harvest Fair on September 8th. This free event includes workshops, demonstrations, and fun activities for all ages that educate the community on creating a healthy local food system.
Supporting local farms is a great way to fuel our local economy and help our community grow. At SMCU, we believe in supporting the communities we reside in, and eating local is one of the many ways that we all can make a difference in our region’s economy. Farm-fresh produce will be available at the Harvest Fair’s Organic Farmer’s Market where farmers will be showing off their most impressive harvests.
Other activities include live music, a community show-and-tell from non-profit organizations, puppet shows, cooking classes, book signings by fantastic authors, and an urban livestock demonstration where farmers bring in their local chickens, goats, rabbits, and more.
The fair will take place on September 8th from 10am to 4pm at Meridian Park.
