SMCU Cooperators Share Holiday Magic for Foster Children

This morning, long before they would normally be working, the SMCU Cooperators assembled at the downtown offices of SMCU. They boarded a shuttle in the pre-dawn rain and rode to the offices of News Talk 97.3 KIRO FM to answer phones for the 22nd Annual Foster Child Holiday Magic radiothon. In all, more than 20 SMCU employees volunteered two hours of their time to take donations from generous callers who wanted to make a difference in the lives of foster children.

KIRO Morning News anchors, Bill Radke and Linda Thomas, hosted their show from the Holiday Magic Phone Bank, sponsored by SMCU. At the end of their shift, the Cooperators helped KIRO raise more than $38,000 for Treehouse and the foster children they work with.

SMCU volunteers had a great time answering phones and sharing in the Holiday Magic festivities. If you’d like to donate, visit www.holidaymagic.org.
