SMCU’s Feel Good Checking® partner, Washington Business Week, is looking for volunteers to be Company Advisors (CAs) for their fun and rewarding summer programs. This year SMCU will once again be sponsoring registration and on-campus lodging for one lucky CA volunteer mentor.
What is Washington Business Week?
Washington Business Week provides week-long opportunities for high school students across the state of Washingtonto learn about teamwork, leadership, and setting real-life goals. It also focuses on teaching the fundamentals of running your own business, facing real challenges and preparing students for the future. Washington Business Week is the only program and summer camp that gives teens an intensive, in-depth, and real-world experience in just one week.
What is Role of the Company Advisor Volunteer?
Company Advisors are business professionals who volunteer for a full week to guide a group of 10-12 teens (a.k.a. a Company) through an interactive real-world business simulation. As a CA you’ll mentor your student Company as they elect officers, make decisions for their simulation, brainstorm ideas for an imaginary business venture, develop leadership skills, and begin to work as a cohesive team. The Company Advisor role is an experience of personal and professional development like no other. Anybody who has ever been a CA will tell you that it was exhausting, but also one of the most rewarding weeks of their lives.
