On Saturday, September 11, 2010, the Northgate Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Northgate Festival 2010. The Festival is a free, family-friendly event that combines a community street fair with live music and other attractions to celebrate Northgate-area businesses.
This year’s festival features a classic Mustang car show and a Health Fair sponsored by Northwest Hospital, where attendees can get a free health screening, including blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol checks.
The firefighters from the 2011 Washington State Council of Firefighters Burn Foundation calendar will be on hand to autograph calendars and pose for pictures. Proceeds from calendar sales benefit the WSCFF Burn Foundation.
Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union is proud to sponsor the Festival’s Children’s Plaza. The children’s area will feature clowns, inflatable bouncy toys, face painting and supervised tumbling. There will be a children’s arts and crafts booth where kids can create original works of art using recycled materials. The Children’s Plaza will also be home to the Community Stage where children and their parents can watch puppets, Irish dancing, professional rope jumping and more.
The Festival runs from 11:00AM to 7:00PM just south of the Northgate Mall in the Thornton Place Plaza. For more information, including maps and music schedules, visit http://www.northgatechamberfestival.com/ or stop by our Northgate Branch and talk to one of our friendly branch reps.
