Two New Services in Online Banking

You might already be familiar with SMCU’s free Online Banking and easy-to-use Bill Pay service. We have recently added two new services, Notifications and Scheduled Transfers. Both can be found in Online Banking and both are free.

Notifications

You can set up an email notification to let you know when your balance goes under or over a certain amount, when an important check has cleared, when a loan payment is due, or when a CD is about to mature. To set up an alert, log into Online Banking and go to Notifications. You can create periodic reminders that go out weekly, monthly, quarterly or other intervals. You can even customize your own personal reminders and send them to multiple addresses.

PLEASE NOTE: Notifications are sent once a day at 10:00am. Payment due and past due notifications for VISA accounts cannot be processed.

Scheduled Transfers

Performing one-time transfers from one SMCU account to another is fast and easy, and now you can set up a recurring transfer just as easily. Send a payment from your checking account to your auto loan, mortgage or Visa once a month, or move some money from checking to savings every week. You can send money to any shared joint account to easily send money to other SMCU members.

We will be rolling out an all-new Web site this year, with easier navigation, more information and more convenient features. Your credit union is focusing on making your accounts easy to access at any time, no matter where you live. Watch for future announcements on smcu.com.

When will I be able to transfer money from my savings account to another bank? I don’t have a checking account with SMCU.

Good News. You are already able to transfer from SMCU to other institutions. All you have to do is log into Online Banking and select the “External Transfer” tab. Choose the “Transfer Between My Accounts” link and follow the instructions. Depending on the amount you transfer and how soon you need the funds in your other account, there is a fee that ranges from $2 to $6.25. You can also set up a free, recurring ACH transfer by calling our Contact Center at 206-398-5500.

An even easier way to transfer funds is to move your checking account to SMCU. Then you can move money instantly between savings and checking through Online Banking. Compare SMCU’s Feel Good Checking to your current account to see how it stacks up.
