We’d Love to Hear from You!

SMCU is present on several social media channels where we demonstrate the 7 Cooperative Principles. We provide financial education, show support for fellow co-ops and causes in the Seattle area, and share information about anything from current promotions to community events. We also like to keep in touch with all of our members. Join us on these channels:

I use the auto pay and deposit at the CU. Why does the CU charge for wire deposits and not for other automatic deposits?

    • SMCU says:

Great question, David. Automatic deposits are processed together as a batch by our system. Wire deposits, on the other hand, have to be handled one at a time and require manual processing by our employees. This results in an additional cost for wire transfers, both incoming and outgoing. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I would really like to see a mobile app for smcu?

    • SMCU says:

Hi, Jim. We are currently exploring mobile solutions and app vendors to find the best fit. We understand the importance of mobile banking apps and hope to provide this for our members in the future.

Have you considered opening a branch in Uptown/LQA? There are two sites that can accommodate you: 500 block of 1st Avenue North (ground floor of mixed use property w/ public parking) and 500 block of Queen Anne Ave North (old Blockbuster Video).

    • SMCU says:

Thank you for your suggestion, Robert. We’re always evaluating neighborhoods that make sense for our members and fit our business plan. We would love to have branches in all areas of Seattle to better serve our members.

  4. Valerie says:

I would like to see an atm installed in the King Street Center building (201 S. Jackson St) for SMCU and other CU members to use that wouldn’t asses a surcharge. Thank you.

    • SMCU says:

Thanks for your suggestion, Valerie. We’ll pass it along to the right department. We’re always evaluating ATM locations that make sense for our members.
